NATIONAL LEARNING MEDIA COMPETITION 2021

Background

Learning Media is everything that can be used to convey messages or information in the teaching and learning process so that it can stimulate students' attention and interest in learning. Additionally, learning media can be utilized to create actual learning conditions

By using learning media, abstract messages can be changed into concrete messages. For instance, when teacher/lecturer conveys a message about the scanning reading technique, when the teacher only explains it without using learning, then the students will have difficulty understanding the scanning reading technique.

Moreover, learning media can enhance the process and results of teaching, particularly in improving students' critical thinking level. This is also in line with Piaget's theory of mental development, which asserts that there are stages of mental development of an individual. The stage of human thinking follows the stage of thinking development from concrete to abstract.

Thus, this competition is an opportunity for all students as future lecturers to be able to contribute their thoughts, ideas, and innovations in order to improve the effectiveness of teaching in Indonesia. This competition is also expected to be a means of channeling the talents of young Indonesian teachers in elaborating their main learning media during the current pandemic.
