Gorontalo - The beginning of the lecture became a very pleasant momentum, especially for the freshmen. The Faculty of Letters and Culture conducted Public Lectures and invited Dr. Ari Kusmiatun, S.Pd., M.Hum: one of the lecturers of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. The lecture was held online using Zoom Meeting on August 30, 2021.

The Public Lecture began with an opening speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Letter and Culture. Dr. Ari Kusmiatun gave the lecture under the topic of "Welcoming the Global Era Based on Scientific Interdisciplinary". Dr. Ari explained a lot about how students must act in achieving their goals.

During the lecture, Dr. Ari Kusmiatun encouraged students to increase interaction with others to strengthen students' relationships with each other. She also requires all students to compete in gathering achievements. Furthermore, she also "demands" students to become scientific multidisciplinary, this is intended so that students are better at mastering more than one scientific field only. The goal is to prepare other things than what they have learned from the Lectures and not only focus on the major they choose.

At the end of the session, she added that everyone could not predict the subject we have learned out of the major we choose, which will benefit us later. For instance, in the work field, we will sometimes get a task that is in contrast with what we have mastered. Moreover, understanding other sciences can open more opportunities to continue our careers abroad.
